Today…

June 19…The cancer Support Group meets Saturday at 9 a.m. at Dairy Queen.

June 19…The 13th annual CUNNINGHAM FAMILY REUNION will be held Saturday at the Trigg County High School Cafeteria in Cadiz. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with the business meeting at 11 a.m. and dinner on the grounds to follow. There will be music, scholarship awards, election of officers and door prizes.

June 19…A special meeting is set Saturday at the TRIGG COUNTY OLIVER CEMETERY with a basket lunch at noon. The meeting is about caretaker needs for the cemetery.

June 19…The Caldwell County Quilters meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at the George Coon Library. Topic is “Keeping Cool with Quilting.”

June 19…The FREDONIA HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI REUNION will be held Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church Activities Building.

Monday…

June 21…The Princeton City Council meets Monday at 5 p.m. in city hall.

June 21…Classes in the COOPER CLAYTON method to stop smoking will begin Monday at the George Coon Library. The classes will be on Monday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for 12 weeks. Persons who want to sign up for classes can call the Pennyrile District Health Department at 365-6571.

June 21…The PENNYRILE PROPHETS CHRISTIAN MOTORCYCLIST MEETING is scheduled Monday at Ryan’s Restaurant, Ft. Campbell Blvd., Hopkinsville. Eating and fellowship begins at 6 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 7 p.m. The group meets each third Monday night and welcomes visitors. June 21…The Fredonia CITY COUNCIL is scheduled to meet on Monday at 7 p.m. in city hall.

June 21…The LADIES AUXILIARY to the VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS POST 5595 will hold a regular monthly meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Post Home.

June 21…The Caldwell County BOARD OF EDUCATION meets Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the board annex on the Butler campus.

Tuesday…

June 22…The Caldwell County Fiscal Court meets Tuesday at 8 a.m. in the small courtroom of the courthouse.

June 22…Caldwell County MIDDLE SCHOOL SBDM will hold a special election to fill a MINORITY PARENT SEAT. It will be Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. All persons eligible to vote may do so at this time.

June 22…The Clothing Room at Princeton First Baptist Church will be open Tuesday 8:30-11 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Persons are asked to enter through the Cave Street door.

June 22…Light Exercise for Senior Citizens is scheduled in the Caldwell County Hospital basement Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. The class is free and open to all interested persons.

June 22…The Princeton ROTARY CLUB meets Tuesdays at 11:45 a.m. at the Majestic House Restaurant.

June 22…George Coon Library SUMMER READING PROGRAM for children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade meets Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

June 22…AL-ANON (for persons affected by someone else’s drinking) meets at Pennyroyal Mental Health Center on McGoodwin Avenue on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. For information, persons can call 365-1413.

June 22…Princeton Chapter 315 ORDER OF EASTERN STAR will meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The organization urges all members to attend.

Wednesday…

June 23…The state VETERANS ASSISTANCE FIELD REPRESENTATIVE will be in Princeton from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at City Hall. Veterans and their families will be provided counseling and assistance in filing claims for state and federal benefits. This is a free service of the state.

June 23…YOUTH ART CAMP will be held at the Princeton Art Guild on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, June 23-25 from 9-11:30 a.m. each day. The instructor is Lori McQueary. The focus for participants is drawing, painting and papier m ache. The art camp is for children from ages 7 to 10. Cost is $24 per child and $21 for Guild members. June 23…The CCPS LIBRARY is open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon through July 14. Students and parents are invited to drop by the library, read and check out books.

June 23…The Princeton Kiwanis Club meets at noon Wednesday at the Majestic House.

June 23…A Weight Watchers group meets Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at ProgressiveHealth in Eddyville.

June 23…A Weight Watchers group meets Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the EMS building on Northfield Drive.

June 23…The George Coon Library board of directors meets Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the library.

June 23…The Adsmore Museum board of directors meets Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the library.

June 23…The TIGER BOOSTER CLUB will meet Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Field House on the high school campus. The election of officers for the 2005 school year will take place at this meeting. Also, ads will be distributed to be sold for the Fall Sports Program. The club urges parents of athletes involved in Caldwell County sports to attend.

Thursday…

June 24…“POTLUCKS” is the topic for the Caldwell County Gets Healthy, Wealthy and Wise program on Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Adult Education Center.

June 24…The Caldwell County Free Clinic opens at 5 p.m. on Thursdays in the basement of the Central Presbyterian Church.

June 26…Trigg County HIGH SCHOOL CLASS of 1947 will have a 57th year reunion on Saturday at the Countryside Restaurant, Hwy. 68 West of Cadiz.

June 27…Caldwell County Extension Homemakers 2004 GARDEN TOUR is set Sunday from 1-4 p.m.

June 28…The Caldwell County DEMOCRATIC WOMAN’S CLUB will meet Monday at 5:15 p.m. at the courthouse in the small courtroom.

June 28…The Lyon County BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

June 29…The RACER ROAD SHOW 2004 for all Caldwell County Murray State University alumni and friends is planned on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The event will be hosted by Phil and Susan Van Hooser at 2976 Hwy. 293 North. Eddie Pennington will perform. A meal is planned with reservations required by calling Joyce at 800-758-8510 by June 25.

July 4…An OPEN HOUSE will be held at the Fredonia Lions Club Building from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday to celebrate the 80th birthday of Margaret Yates.

••Contact the Kentucky Department of Agriculture FARM CHEMICAL COLLECTION HOTLINE at 1-800-205-6543 to dispose of old, unusable or unwanted farm chemicals.

••A DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS VOLUNTEER VAN transports veterans from the Murray area to Nashville’s VA Medical Center. The service is free. Veterans who need to arrange transportation to the VA facility can contact Jim Clemens at 270-436-6343.

••Any person who wants to make a donation to the Paducah Chapter of the Dream Factory may send a check or money order to the organization at P.O. Box 2333, Paducah, Ky. 42002.

••KENTUCKY FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM serves people 60 and over who are interested in working with a child at least 15 hours per week in a school system in Caldwell, Hopkins, or Christian counties. Those who qualify earn an hourly stipend. For information persons can contact Marlana Patton at (270) 797-3771.
