March 9…Two KNITTING CLASSES are scheduled. They are Wednesday at 10 a.m. and Monday evening at 6 p.m. at the Caldwell County Extension Office. Persons can contact Chris Rivera at 365-2787 for information.

March 9…The RED HAT SOCIETY will meet on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Peggy’s Cafe.

March 9…The Princeton Kiwanis Club meets at noon Wednesday at the Majestic House.

March 9…The LYON COUNTY FISCAL COURT meets on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the courthouse.

March 9…The Caldwell County ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE will meet Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the school.

March 9…The Caldwell County HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM COMMITTEE meets Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the school library.

March 9…Caldwell County WEIGHT WATCHERS meet Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Extension office.

March 9…The Caldwell County AG DEVELOPMENT BOARD will meet Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Caldwell County Extension Office.

Thursday…

March 10…Light Exercise for Senior Citizens is scheduled in the Caldwell County Hospital basement Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. The class is free and open to all interested persons.

March 10…Caldwell County WATER DISTRICT board of directors is scheduled to meet Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

March 10…The Caldwell County Free Clinic will open Thursday at 5 p.m. in the basement of Central Presbyterian Church.

March 10…The Caldwell County RAILROAD HISTORICAL SOCIETY will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. at the museum.

March 10…The Caldwell County EXTENSION HOMEMAKERS COUNCIL will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Extension Office.

March 10…DAWSON SPRINGS VFW POST 5359 offers BINGO on Thursday. The Post is located off State Route 109 South (Hospital Road) on Lee Wilson Drive. Earlybird games begin at 6:30 p.m. with regular Bingo at 7 p.m.

Friday…

March 11…The Wetheads will meet Friday at 11:30 a.m. for their monthly meeting at Pagliai's Restaurant. All interested are invited to attend.

March 11…CLINTON MASONIC LODGE #82 F&AM will have Stated Communication on Friday at 7:30 p.m. preceded by a meal at 6:30 p.m. The lodge invites all brothers to attend.

Saturday…

March 12…Girl Scout Troop 594 plans a COOKIE SALE on Saturday with a booth at Wal-Mart on U.S. 62-West. The final date for purchasing cookies is March 20.

March 12…The Caldwell County Cancer Support Group meets Saturday at 9 a.m. at Dairy Queen.

March 12…The 1st District Democratic Woman's Club will meet Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pagliai's Restaurant. The meeting is open to the public. Rep. Mike Cherry will be the guest speaker for the event.

March 12…The Fredonia Holiness Church will have a gospel singing Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. For more information, persons may call 545-7122.

March 14…The Lyon County Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting on Monday with the Lyon Middle School SBDM Council at 6 p.m. in the District Conference Center.

March 14…The Caldwell County CONSERVATION DISTRICT annual awards banquet is planned on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the UK Research and Education Center.

March 15 & 17…PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES are scheduled for the Caldwell County School District on Tuesday and Thursday from 3-6 p.m.

March 15…The FAMILY READING NIGHT at Caldwell County Primary School on Tuesday will feature a visit by Kentucky author Leigh Anne Florence who will share her books. The program begins at 5 p.m. in the CCPS library.

March 17…PENNYRILE BOARD OF REALTOR’S board meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Cadiz Restaurant in Cadiz. Meeting guest speaker and sponsor is Matt Cothran with the Bank of Cadiz.

March 18-19…The Caldwell County BAND BOOSTERS will present THE FOLLIES on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the high school Fine Arts Center. Persons or groups interested in performing can contact Laura Brandon at 365-7834.

March 19…The Caldwell County QUILTERS will meet on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the George Coon Library. Planning for the April Quilt Show will be the topic of discussion.

March 19…The LITTLE MISS & MASTER TATER DAY beauty pageant, co-sponsored by the Benton Kiwanis Club, will be held on Saturday at the Benton Middle School gym. The pageant is open to girls ages 0 through 12 and boys ages 0 through 35 months. March 20-26…COMMONWEALTH CLEANUP WEEK is being observed in Lyon County with an ADOPT-A-MILE program. Persons can call the Lyon County Judge-Executive’s office at 388-7311 for more information.

March 21…The Lyon County BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the District Conference Center. This is changed from the regular meeting of March 28.

March 22 & 29…The 4-H SHOOTING SPORTS TEAM will have two mandatory safety trainings for any youth interested in joining the Caldwell County 4-H Shooting Sports team. The trainings will be held at the UK Research and Education Center on Tuesdays at 6 p.m.

March 24…During Commonwealth Cleanup Week, Lyon County plans to FIGHT IDENTITY THEFT with a paper shredder day on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m at Akridge’s in Eddyville. An industrial paper shredder will be available as a service sponsored by the Lyon County judge-executive to destroy old personal papers (up to 50 pounds), CDs, floppy disks and credit cards.

April 23…The Princeton Art Guild 2nd ANNUAL DOLL SHOW is planned on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tourist Welcome Center. Persons who want additional information can contact Grace Prowell at 365-7238.

Underway…The PACS Retired Senior Volunteer Program will PREPARE INDIVIDUAL FEDERAL AND KENTUCKY TAX FORMS at the Caldwell County Senior Citizens Center, from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. through April 12. The service is free with priority given to those 60 and older. For information or appointment, persons can call Lindy Holloway at 365-7446.
