Charges filed after rental car evasion

A woman accused of failing to return a rented car to Quality Ford was arrested in Paducah over the weekend and is now back in Caldwell County custody.

Princeton police traveled to Paducah at 1:30 p.m. Monday to pick up Jodi Lynn Barger-Peters, 41, and transport her from the McCracken County Jail back to Princeton.

Paducah police arrested her Sunday on Princeton warrants charging her with theft by failure to make required disposition over $300 and criminal possession of a forged instrument, second degree.

The warrants allege that Barger-Peters used a forged check to rent a 2006 Ford Focus, valued at $9,000, from Quality Ford on Thursday, March 8, then failed to return the vehicle at the specified time and date.

Paducah police recovered the vehicle, and it has been returned to Quality Ford.

• A Dollar Street man was arrested for DUI and other charges after a traffic stop Saturday morning.

Chadwick M. Parm, 28, was arrested at 10:13 a.m. on charges of DUI, driving on a suspended license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers stopped the 1997 Ford he was driving for traffic violations.

Officers determined Parm was impaired and took him into custody.

A passenger, 27-year-old Nancy R. Parm, also of Dollar Street, was also arrested, on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers confiscated a small quantity of suspected marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were lodged in the county jail.

• Elliot Caudill, 22, of Mechanic Street, was arrested and jailed at 11:36 p.m. Friday on charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance, third degree, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance and disregarding a stop sign after officers stopped the 1997 Chevrolet he was driving for traffic violations.

Officers investigating the stop determined Caudill was impaired and took him into custody. Police confiscated a small quantity of suspected marijuana, rolling papers and several Darvocet tablets.

• Robert C. DuPont, of Main Street, Madisonville, was arrested and jailed at 3:03 p.m. Sunday on a DUI charge after officers stopped the 1992 Dodge he was driving for traffic violations.

• Officers arrested Roy David Thatcher, 34, of North Darby Street, at 8:18 p.m. Sunday on charges of fourth-degree assault and possession of marijuana after responding to a domestic violence complaint.

Thatcher was arrested after the victim, Nicole Hensley, told officers that Thatcher struck her in the face.

Police confiscated a small quantity of suspected marijuana from Thatcher’s pocket. Officers also served him with a Caldwell County warrant for failure to appear on several traffic charges. He was lodged in the county jail.

• Emma Roedel, 23, of East Market Street, was arrested at 10 a.m. Friday on a Knox County warrant charging her with failure to appear in court regarding a child support issue. Roedel was transported to the Caldwell County Jail, where she posted a $1,000 bond.

• Police are investigating a report of a lost wallet.

At 9:30 a.m. Monday, Ken Parker, of 403 Holly Lane, reported the wallet as missing.

Parker said he lost the wallet between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, when he had been cleaning his vehicle and put the wallet on the trunk. He said he started into town at about 7:30 and remembered the wallet.

When he retraced his steps, though, he could not find the wallet, which contained his personal information and an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
