Class of ’07 fields 22 graduates of distinction

Twenty-two CCHS seniors have been selected as candidates for graduate of distinction honors this year.

To be selected as a graduate of distinction, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

This year’s graduates of distinction are:

Kellsey Anne Agnew, Alexandra Elaine Arnold, Ashley Nicole Boaz, Brittney Lauren Keolani Boone, Brittney Michele Brandon, Matthew Earl Fraliex, Corey Thomas Giannini, Anna Elizabeth Harralson, Holly Michelle Hartigan;

Matthew Charles Jehnke, Audrey Lauren Lamb, Celeste Anne Laurent, Michael Lee Mason, Sara Ann McNeely, Kayla Beth Morris, Morgan Lacy Orange, Coley Benjamin Rogers, Maghan Kensi Rogers, Bailey Marie Squires, Ryan Harper Stephens, Kailee Michelle Viehland and Tyler Loren James Williams.

Kellsey Agnew is the daughter of Scott and Brenda Agnew of Flynns Ferry Road, Fredonia.

She has served as 4-H Teen Club president and Pennyrile Area Teen Council vice president, and she was a state teen council delegate. She also participated in National Honor Society (NHS), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), the yearbook staff, pep club and was a U-8 soccer coach.

She plans to study business at Georgetown College.

Alex Arnold, of Turnbury Drive, Princeton, is the daughter of Andrew and Lori Arnold and Marina Love.

She played varsity soccer for four years and was captain her senior year. She also participates in rodeo, barrel racing, Kentucky High School Rodeo, NBHA, IBRA and PCA events and is chapter reporter for the Caldwell County FFA chapter.

She plans to attend either Murray State University or Madisonville Community College and pursue a degree in either agribusiness, with a minor in equine science, or nursing.

Ashley Boaz is the daughter of Eddie and Glenda Boaz of Ky. 514, Princeton.

She has participated in marching band, jazz band, concert band and played in the pit orchestra for the musical “Singin’ in the Rain.”

She is a member of the Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church youth group, taught lessons to middle school saxophone players, participated in quad-state and all-district bands at Murray State University and was recommended to audition for all-state band.

She plans to attend Murray State University and obtain a degree in music education, with an instrumental emphasis.

After college, she hopes to obtain her master’s degree and become a high school band director.

Brittney Boone, of Hillview Drive, Princeton, is the daughter of Terry Boone and Dina and Kenny Ray.

She has participated in soccer, track, cheerleading, NHS and school musicals. She was named in Who’s Who Among High School Students, the National Honor Roll and was a United States Achievement Academy National Honor Student. She was also named student of the month and received a perfect attendance award.

She plans to attend St. Catharine College and obtain a degree in elementary education.

After college, she hopes to become an elementary school teacher and have a family of her own.

Brittney Brandon is the daughter of Jeff and Connie Brandon of Nancy Drive, Princeton.

She is a member of Northside Baptist Church and participated in NHS, FBLA, FCA, pep club, scrapbooking, and the cheerleading competition squad.

She volunteers in the Community Disciples tutoring program and was recently selected as a Murray State University cheerleader.

She will attend Murray State University in the fall to be a cheerleader and study accounting.

Matt Fraliex is the son of Earl and Helen Fraliex, of Marion Road, Fredonia.

He participated in varsity basketball, the Champions Against Drugs council, NHS and school musicals.

He is a member of the Fredonia First Baptist Church, where he played the role of Jesus in the Forgiveness House Easter drama. He is also a Murray State University basketball signee.

He plans to major in education at Murray State, then return to Caldwell County to be a middle or high school teacher and coach basketball.

He also plans to go into administration and be a principal or superintendent.

Corey Giannini is the son of Tracy and Kim Giannini of Cravens Road, Princeton.

He played varsity soccer for four years and was captain this year. He also participated in FBLA, pep club and FCA.

He was a Youth Inc. soccer referee for four years. He is a member of Southside Baptist Church.

He plans to attend St. Catharine College to play soccer and pursue a pre-med degree.

He hopes to return to Princeton and open up his own family practice in remembrance of Dr. Frank Giannini, his great-grandfather.

Anna Harralson is the daughter of the late George and the late Jane Harralson and resides with Brad and Jayme Harralson of Dogwood Lane, Princeton.

She has participated in marching band, pep band, concert band and the academic team.

She is a member of the Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church youth group, participates in the youth handbells and has directed the children’s handbells for four years.

She is a Governor’s Scholar and a Commonwealth Scholar.

She plans to attend Western Kentucky University to obtain a degree in psychology, specializing in child psychology.

Holly Hartigan is the daughter of Dana and Denice Hartigan of Ky. 139 South, Princeton.

She has participated in 4-H, serving as a teen leader, FFA, NHS, Spanish Club, Envirothon, the Champions Against Drugs, FCA and the 4-H area and state teen councils.

She was a Kentucky Youth Seminar scholar, an American Private Enterprise System (APES) participant and leader and a Postponing Sexual Involvement (PSI) teen leader.

She is a member of the Eddy Creek Baptist Church youth group.

She plans to get married this summer, then attend Murray State University and major in accounting.

Matthew Jehnke is the son of Cecelia Long and the stepson of Mark Long, of Ky. 139 South, Princeton.

He has participated in basketball, the Champions council, FBLA, foreign language club, was a pep club officer, an FCA huddle leader, an NHS officer and a Key Club officer.

He participated in the Gifted and Talented program, the engineering club, was a Sonshine Tuesday helper, a Community Disciples volunteer and a Habitat for Humanity volunteer. He attends Southside Baptist Church.

He plans to attend the University of Kentucky’s Paducah campus to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. He hopes to work as a mechanical engineer for the government or in the private sector.

Audrey Lamb is the daughter of Joe and Jerri Lamb of Princeton.

She is a member of NHS, Southside Baptist Church and its youth group, youth choir and youth interpretive team.

She plans to attend the International Academy of Design Technology or the Nossi College of Art to obtain a degree in graphic design and animation.

After graduating, she plans to get a job at a good business firm. “The place I really want to work is at the Nicktoons Studio in Burbank, Calif.,” she said. “That is my dream job.”

She plans to work first as a graphic designer, then working her way up to animator.

Celeste Laurent is the daughter of Kevin and Colette Laurent of Ky. 91 South, Princeton.

She is a member of the Kentucky 4-H Livestock Judging All-Star Team, 4-H Livestock Showmanship and the county’s 4-H Livestock Judging Team.

She also participates in FFA, where she serves as Pennyrile Region president, Caldwell County president and is a state officer candidate.

She is also a member of the National Junior Swine Association, NHS, St. Mark Catholic Church and the 4-H Teen Council.

She plans to attend the University of Kentucky and obtain a degree in agriculture communications.

She hopes to work for a youth livestock organization as a communications/youth activities director.

Michael Mason is the son of Mickey and Brenda Mason, of the Dawson Road, Princeton.

He was captain of the CCHS academic team, volunteered at the Caldwell County Free Clinic and participated in the chess club, NHS and the Tiger Talk news.

He plans to attend Western Kentucky University to obtain a degree in history. He hopes to obtain a doctorate degree and become a professor.

Sara McNeely is the daughter of Allen McNeely and Kelly McNeely of Livingston Cemetery Road, Fredonia.

She participated in the Kentucky Junior Historical Society, Spanish Club, NHS, chess club, concert band and drama.

She is a member of the Princeton Church of Christ youth group.

She plans to attend Western Kentucky University and obtain a degree in psychology, then travel overseas before pursuing a career.

Kayla Morris is the daughter of Mike and Kim Henry, of North Jefferson Street in Princeton.

She is a member of NHS, Champions Against Drugs, pep club and Southside Baptist Church.

She plans to pursue a career in the business field and continue her life with her husband and child.

Morgan Orange is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Orange.

She participated in softball, student council, student government, pep club, Spanish Club, the Champions Against Drugs and NHS. She is a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church.

She plans to attend Western Kentucky University and obtain a degree in political science, with a minor in Spanish.

She will focus on a career in international relations.

Coley Rogers is the son of Roy Gene Rogers and Sharon Joyce Rogers of Flynn Ferry Road, Fredonia.

He participated in pep club, FCA, NHS, student council (serving as events chairman), the prom commmittee and APES. He is a member of Donaldson Baptist Church.

He plans to attend Murray State University and obtain a degree in business to become an accountant.

Maghan Rogers, of Hopkinsville Street, Princeton, is the daughter of Christy Rose and Kevin Rogers.

She participated in cheerleading, NHS, Spanish Club, FCA and Champions Against Drugs.

She was named to the National Honor Roll and Who’s Who. She is a member of Southside Baptist Church.

She plans to attend the West Kentucky Community and Technical College to obtain a degree in sonography/radiology and become an ultrasound technician.

Bailey Squires is the daughter of Patricia and Dan Squires of H. Haile Road, Dawson Springs.

She participated in NHS, Key Club, KJHS, scrapbooking, art club and a practicum from a vocational health science class to Princeton Drug.

She plans to attend Western Kentucky University to obtain a history degree, with a minor in design.

She hopes to earn a master’s degree, “get married, travel a bit, then settle down.”

Ryan Stephens is the son of Mike and Sandy Stephens of the Old Fredonia Road in Princeton.

He participated in baseball, golf, FCA, Champions Against Drugs, pep club and APES. He is a member of the Good Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He plans to attend Murray State University.

Kailee Viehland is the daughter of Andy and Ruthann Viehland of Dowell Drive, Princeton.

She was a blue squad cheerleader, member of the tennis team, senior class president, FBLA parliamentarian and pep club sergeant-at-arms.

She was a member of the NHS, Key Club, FCA, Champions Against Drugs, the school bank president and a Community Disciples tutor.

She is active in the Hands of Worship sign language ministry team and is an assistant Sunday school teacher.

She plans to attend Western Kentucky University and obtain a degree in journalism and/or communications.

She hopes to obtain a master’s in communications and pursue a career in journalism, preferably as an editor for a magazine or other publication.

Tyler Williams is the son of Fred and Julie Williams of South Jefferson Street in Princeton.

He participated on the powerlifting team, coached and refereed flag football, was junior class president, president of student government and a member of NHS.

He plans to attend Western Kentucky University and obtain a degree in civil engineering and construction management.

He may pursue a career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or open his own construction and engineering business.

Commencement exercises will take place Friday, May 18.
