Aug. 29…The Princeton Kiwanis Club meets Wednesday at noon at the Majestic House Restaurant.
Aug. 29…The 1967 Class Reunion Committee will meet Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Pagliai's Restaurant to finish plans for the reunion to be held Saturday, Sept. 1, at 5 p.m. at the Princeton Golf and Country Club.
Thursday…
Aug. 30…Caldwell County Hospital EXERCISE FOR SENIORS will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the hospital basement.
Aug. 30…The clothes closet at Fredonia First Baptist Church will be closed for the next two to three months for renovations. Clothing will not be accepted during this time.
Aug. 30…The Caldwell County Free Clinic opens at 5 p.m. Thursday in the basement of Central Presbyterian Church.

Aug. 31…JOPPA MASONIC LODGE #167 will host a Friends and Family Night at the Lodge on Friday. A meal is planned at 6 p.m. followed by recognition of any masonic widows, years of membership awards, guest speaker and entertainment with the Country Connections band. The group welcomes the public to this event.
Saturday…
Sept. 1…A RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE is planned in Princeton on Saturday at E.W. James, 550 U.S. 62-West, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This drive is in recognition of September as National Preparedness Month.
Sept. 1…The George Coon Library’s annual Black Patch Book Sale begins Saturday and continues Tuesday through Friday. Books, magazines, audio cassettes, CDs and videos will be sold.
Sept. 1…A Caldwell County BAND BBQ AND CARWASH fund-raiser will be held by the Caldwell County Band on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The BBQ will be on the Wal-Mart parking lot near the BP. The carwash will be at the McDonald’s lot.
Sept. 1…The STANLEY WALKER BAND will play Saturday night at the Kuttawa Center Pavilion at 7 p.m. There is no charge. The Lyon County Art Guild will host a special program honoring veterans with special music and speakers at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Walker band.
Sunday…
Sept. 2…A Caldwell County Sportsman Club membership TRAPSHOOT is scheduled on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the sportsman range on U.S. 62-East.
Sept. 2…The Ray Crider McNabb VFW Post 5595 annual LABOR DAY PICNIC is planned Sunday at the post home. Food will be served from noon to 2 p.m. VFW, American Legion and Auxiliaries and all card-carrying members are welcome.
Sept. 2…A CELEBRATION OF THE SERVICE AND MINISTRY OF JO McCASLIN is planned on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary. A reception will follow in the First Baptist Fellowship Hall.

Sept. 6…A special FAMILY READING NIGHT to honor GRANDPARENTS is planned on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the CCPS playroom. Grandparents are invited to read with grandchildren. A special program will be presented by Katie Walls second grade. All interested persons are welcome.
Sept. 6…A GIRL SCOUT PARENT/ DAUGHTER INFORMATION meeting for all girls interested in becoming a Girl Scout is planned on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Caldwell County EMS Building meeting room.
Sept. 8…The annual Butler/Caldwell Alumni and Friends reunion is planned on Saturday. Reunion activities at the Butler building begin at 8:30 a.m. with donuts and coffee at 10:30 a.m. and lunch at noon. Persons who plan to attend for lunch can send $12 to BCAF, c/o Sandy Brown, P.O.
