Oct. 4-6…The HR Ministries RETURNING HEARTS CELEBRATION is planned Thursday through Saturday at the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex in Fredonia. The event opens with a meeting of volunteers and inmates on Thursday and will end Saturday with a full day of activities for all involved. Oct. 4…Caldwell County Hospital EXERCISE FOR SENIORS will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the hospital basement.

Oct. 4…The Caldwell County Free Clinic opens at 5 p.m. Thursday in the basement of Central Presbyterian Church.

Oct. 4…LIBERTY LODGE 580 at Frances will hold an OPEN HOUSE/FAMILY NIGHT on Thursday. Potluck dinner is served at 6 p.m. Donations are welcome. Service awards will be at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 6…NEWSOMS CEMETERY in Caldwell County will hold its annual meeting Saturday at noon. There will be a potluck meal after the meeting.

Oct. 6…The Caldwell County HIStoriCAL SOCIETY NIGHT RIDER TOUR is planned at Cobb on Saturday. Food and music begin at 4:30 and the ride is at 5:30 p.m. Advance tickets are available at Service Plus or Big Springs Antique Mall.

Oct. 7…A Caldwell County Sportsman Club membership TRAPSHOOT is scheduled on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the sportsman range on U.S. 62-East.

Oct. 7…A REVIVE PRAYER WALK is planned at Caldwell County High School on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. This program of prayer for the local schools is nondenominational and open to all ages. Oct. 8…The Lakes Area GOP Club will host its annual Columbus Day picnic at the large pavilion in Old Kuttawa park on Monday at 5 p.m. Candidates and elected officials for state offices have been invited. The public is invited.

Oct. 11…The FREDONIA CLOTHES CLOSET will be reopening Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. at the Fredonia First Baptist Church Family Life Center. (Old Fredonia School, use double door entrance at the back of the building.) Any person in need of clothing is welcome. However, the clothes closet is not accepting clothing at this time.

Oct. 12…The Wetheads Swimming Group meets Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Pagliai's Restaurant. Paul and Ellen Cockerham will be hosts for the meeting. Visitors are welcome.

Oct. 13…Vulcan Materials Company, Grand Rivers Quarry, will host a COMMUNITY APPRECIATION DAY AND OPEN HOUSE on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in conjunction with Grand Rivers Harvest Moon Festival. Activities include quarry tours, face painting for children, food and drinks. Live entertainment will be provided by Kevin Castleberry from Benton.

Oct. 18…Caldwell County Primary School will host an appearance by AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR MARK WAYNE ADAMS on Thursday at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come meet him.

Oct. 29…The Caldwell County Democratic Woman's Club will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at the home of Sharron Belcher for the annual picnic.
