Oct. 6…The Caldwell County HIStoriCAL SOCIETY NIGHT RIDER TOUR is planned at Cobb on Saturday. Food and music begin at 4:30 and the ride is at 5:30 p.m. Advance tickets are available at Service Plus or Big Springs Antique Mall.

Oct. 7…A Caldwell County Sportsman Club membership TRAPSHOOT is scheduled on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the sportsman range on U.S. 62-East.
Oct. 7…A REVIVE PRAYER WALK is planned at Caldwell County High School on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. This program of prayer for the local schools is nondenominational and open to all ages. (Old Fredonia School, use double door entrance at the back of the building.) Any person in need of clothing is welcome. However, the clothes closet is not accepting clothing at this time.

Oct. 13…Vulcan Materials Company, Grand Rivers Quarry, will host a COMMUNITY APPRECIATION DAY AND OPEN HOUSE on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in conjunction with Grand Rivers Harvest Moon Festival. Activities include quarry tours, face painting for children, food and drinks. Live entertainment will be provided by Kevin Castleberry from Benton.
