Thursday…

Feb. 21…Caldwell County Hospital EXERCISE FOR SEN­IORS will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the hospital basement. The activity is free.

Feb. 21…A RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE will be held in Fredonia Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. at the Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Cassidy Avenue.

Feb. 21…The FREDONIA CLOTHES CLOSET is open Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. at the Fre­donia First Baptist Church Family Life Center. (Old Fre­donia School, use double door entrance at the back of the building.) Any person in need of clothing is welcome. However, the clothes closet is not accepting clothing at this time.

Feb. 21…The Caldwell County Free Clinic opens at 5 p.m. Thursday in the basement of Central Pres­by­terian Church.

Saturday…

Feb. 23…Caldwell County CANCER SUPPORT GROUP meets on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the George Coon Library. The group is scheduled to meet every other Saturday.

Feb. 23…Clinton Masonic Lodge #82 F&AM will have a Master Mason Degree Saturday night. The first section is at 5 p.m. with a meal at 6 p.m. and the second section at 7 p.m. The lodge invites all brother master masons to attend.

Sunday…

Feb. 24…The Wilson-Blair African-American One-Room School in Fredonia will host a reception Sunday from 2-4 p.m. celebrating the 90th birthday of Virginia Blair, who attended the one-room school. The public is invited.

Feb. 24…A REVIVE PRAYER WALK is planned at Cald­well County High School on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. This program of prayer for the local schools is nondenominational and open to all ages. Prayer walks are scheduled monthly. For information, persons can contact Bro. Bobby D. Cotton at 365-9027 or 625-8274.

Plan Ahead…

Feb. 25…Clinton Masonic Lodge #82 F&AM will have a Fellowcraft Degree Monday night. A meal is planned at 6 p.m. with work scheduled at 7 p.m. The lodge invites all brother masons to attend.

Feb. 25…The Caldwell County class of 1988 will hold a reunion planning meeting on Monday at 6 p.m. at LaPotosina Mexican restaurant.

Feb. 25…PRIVATE PESTICIDE APPLICATOR TRAIN-ING will be held Monday at the Caldwell County Extension Office at 6 p.m. Persons who want more information can contact Shane Bogle at the Extension Office, 365-2787.

Feb. 25…The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp charter meeting is schedule Monday at 6:30 p.m. at George Coon Public Library auditorium. All interested are invited to attend.

Feb. 26…Princeton Chapter 315 ORDER OF THE EASTERN STAR will have a stated meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge Hall. Dinner is at 6 p.m. with the meeting at 7 p.m. All members are urged to attend.

Feb. 26…A CROP CLASS will be presented during the Adult Agriculture Class to be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Trigg/Lyon Fire Department on Rockcastle Road. This is the fifth in a series of six classes for producers.

Feb. 29…A LIBRARY TASTERS LUNCHEON is planned on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ogden United Methodist Church Baker Hall. This is a Friends of the Library fund-raiser.

March 3…A TRI-COUNTY TOBACCO MEETING is planned Monday at 6 p.m. at the Trigg County Recreation Complex. Topics and speakers include the “2008 Tobacco Outlook” from Dr. Will Snell, UK Extenson Tobacco Economist, and “Dark Tobacco Update” by Andy Bailey, UT/UK Extension Dark Tobacco Specialist. The program is aponsored by the Caldwell, Lyon and Trigg County Farm Bureaus. For reservations, persons can call the Extension Service in Caldwell County at 365-2787, in Trigg County at 522-3269 or in Lyon County at 388-2341.

March 4…Caldwell-Lyon Cattlemen meet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Fredonia Lions Club building.

March 14…The Caldwell County High School Choral Department will present the 17th Annual Musical be-ginning March 14. This year’s musical will be, “Disney’s High School Musical” and will feature a cast of talented youngsters. Show dates are: Friday, March 14, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 15, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, March 16, at 2 p.m. if tickets sell out of the other 3 shows. Tickets are on sale now at the Caldwell County Board of Education Central Office.
