Today…

March 19…The Caldwell County LOCAL EMERGENCY PLANNING COMMITTEE meets Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Caldwell County EOC.

March 19…The Princeton Kiwanis Club meets Wed­nes­day at noon at the Majestic House Restaurant.

March 19…Kentucky and Ten­nessee dark tobacco growers are the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Manu­fac­turing Company’s (USSTMC) guests of honor on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the James E. Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville.

March 19-21…Fredonia First Baptist Church presents the 2nd annual Forgiveness House, a walk-through drama portraying the last days of Jesus Christ on Earth. The program continues Wednesday through Friday from 6-9 p.m., at the Family Life Center, next door to the church at 208 Cassidy Ave. Admission is free. Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registration is recommended. For registration, persons can contact Kathy Sample at 270-625-5166.

Thursday…

March 20…A joint meeting of the HOPE AND COPE FAMILY RESOURCE YOUTH SERVICE CENTER AD­­VISORY COUNCILS will meet in the Butler Annex Building at 9 a.m. on Thursday.

March 20…Caldwell County Hospital EXERCISE FOR SEN­IORS will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the hospital basement. The activity is free.

March 20…The FREDONIA CLOTHES CLOSET is open Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. at the Fre­donia First Baptist Church Family Life Center. (Old Fre­donia School, use double door entrance at the back of the building.) Any person in need of clothing is welcome. However, the clothes closet is not accepting clothing at this time.

March 20…The Caldwell County Free Clinic opens at 5 p.m. Thursday in the basement of Central Pres­by­terian Church.

March 20…SAFETY TRAININGS for the 4-H SHOOTING SPORTS TEAM will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Caldwell County Extension Office and on Thursday, March 27, at the UK Research and Education Center. Anyone that would like to participate must be 9 years old as of Jan. 1, 2008, and must attend both of the trainings. Persons can call the Extension Office at 365-2787 for more information.

Friday…

March 21…A LYON COUNTY COMMUNITY GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE is planned Friday from 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. at the Eddyville United Methodist Church. Additional details on page C-5 in this edition of the Times Leader.

March 21…Woodmen of the World Youth Lodge 815 will hold a BOWLING TOURNAMENT on Friday, from 5-7 p.m. The event is rescheduled from March 8. Persons who want information can call youth leader Tiffanie Smiley at 365-6111.

March 21…Christ Tabernacle Church will have a catfish supper Friday from 6-8 p.m. Cost is $8 per adult and $4 per child (ages 3-11). The menu includes catfish, hush puppies, white beans, coleslaw, cookie and drink.

Saturday…

March 22…Caldwell County CANCER SUPPORT GROUP meets Saturday at 9 a.m. at George Coon Library.

March 22…A CALDWELL COUNTY BAND BBQ/COOKOUT is planned on Saturday from 9 a.m. until sellout by the BP station at the stoplight on U.S. 62-West.

March 22…Post 116 American Legion and Auxiliary will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt for children under 12 years of age on Saturday at the Legion Building on Cadiz Road. Hot dogs will be served at noon with the egg hunt to begin at 1 p.m.

March 22…PLEASANT HILL BAPTIST CHURCH on Highway 93S in Eddyville will have a giant CANDY HUNT on Saturday at 3 p.m. for children ages 1-12.

Sunday…

March 23…An EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE is planned Sunday at Princeton’s Second Baptist Church with a service at 7:30 a.m. followed by breakfast, Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 10:45 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

March 23…An Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt is planned at Green Turtle Bay Resort in Grand Rivers on Sunday. Brunch is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the GTB Commonwealth Yacht Club. A children’s Egg Hunt follows at 2 p.m with candy, giant Easter basket and cash prizes! For brunch reservations, persons can call 270-362-4444. March 23…CELEBRATE RECOVERY, a Christian 12-step program for addiction co-dependency, any other hurts, habits and hangups is planned Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in the Northside Baptist Church Sanctuary. A meal is served and the group extends a welcome to all interested.

March 24…The Jim Pearce Camp Sons of Confed­erate Veterans every fourth Monday at 7 p.m. at George Coon Public Library auditorium. All interested are invited to attend.

March 25…Princeton Chapter 315 Eastern Star will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge Hall. Dinner is at 6 p.m. with a meeting at 7 p.m. The group urges all members to attend.

March 29…The SW Regional Business and Professional Women’s Club will meet Saturday at 10 a.m. at Pagliai’s Restaurant for the annual meeting. The Young Careerist Speak-Off will be held.

March 29…The ROWLAND CEMETERY regular quarterly meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the cemetery office. All interested persons are welcome.

March 29…The third installment of “Music, Moonshine, Muffins & Nuts,” a fundraising event for the Pennington Festival, will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Princeton Art Guild.

March 31…Caldwell County Democratic Woman’s Club will meet Monday at 5:15 p.m. at Pagliai’s Restaurant. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.

March 31…A CLASS REUNION PLANNING MEETING will be held on Monday at 6 p.m. at Pagliai’s Pizza for the Caldwell County Class of 1988. For information, persons can call 365-6609.
