Caldwell County’s tennis teams continued their strong seasons on Thursday, sweeping 13 matches against Lyon County at the CCHS tennis courts.
The Lady Tigers rolled to a 9-0 win while the Tigers claimed all four boys matches contested.
Both of the local squads are now 5-1.
In girls singles play against Lyon, Claire Catlett defeated Tiffany Groves 6-1, 6-0; Savannah Pepper def. Taylor Webb 8-1; Katherine Farmer def. Chelsea Brehm 8-5; Drew Dillingham def. Shelby Peek 8-0; Annie Talley def. Emily Oliver 8-0 and Mary Mac Joiner def. Lizz Grief 8-0.
In girls doubles, Farmer/Dillingham def. Brehm/Thomas 6-1, 6-2; Talley/Joiner def. Estes/Gray 8-0; and Erin Harper/Maggie Wetzel def. Tullar/Neal 8-0.
In boys singles, Ben Scott def. Alex Bugg 6-0, 6-2; Austin Adams def. James Jasis 8-2; and Matt Tittle def. Lance Freeman 8-0.
In the lone boys doubles contest, Will Oliver/Hunter Giannini def. Bugg/Jasis 6-1, 6-3.
Caldwell’s tennis teams are scheduled to visit Ft. Campbell on Monday before traveling to Lyon County on Tuesday. The squads are slated to play at Hopkinsville on Thursday.
The next home match is slated for Friday against Hopkins County Central.
