Graduation activities for the Caldwell County High School Class of 2008 begin this Sunday, with a baccalaureate service in the school’s Community Activities Building (CAB).
The featured speaker for the baccalaureate service is the Rev. Jeff Boone of Princeton.
Boone has served as the pastor of Fairview Baptist Church since May 2002.
He surrendered to preach in 1997 and was ordained in June 2002.
Boone, a 1977 graduate of Caldwell County High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Kentucky in 1981.
Since 2001, he has served as county executive director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for Caldwell and Lyon counties.
He served as county executive director in Webster County from October 1996 to July 2001.
He and his wife, Stacy, were married in October 1982.
They have two children. Son Justin is a senior at UK; daughter Jordan is a sophomore there.
Boone is the youngest son of J.E. and Claire Boone of Princeton.
The baccalaureate service begins at 7 p.m. Sunday. Doors for the service will open at 6 p.m., school officials said. There is no reserved seating.
Activities continue Monday evening, May 12, with a class night ceremony, also in the CAB.
Like the baccalaureate ceremony, class night begins at 7 p.m.
Doors open at 6 p.m., again with no reserved seating, school officials said.
Graduation activities conclude with commencement exercises at 7 p.m. Friday, May 16, in the CAB.
Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. There is no reserved seating, but the bottom row of chairback seats will be marked for special seating needs.
