The Caldwell County Middle School SBDM council will hold an election for a parent member for the 2008-09 school year Friday.

Nominations for the seat on the council will be taken today and tomorrow (May 14 and 15) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the middle school.

The election will be held Friday, May 16, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school.

Band Booster parents will be present to take votes and tally the results, school officials said.

Parent representatives may be employees of other schools or relatives of employees of other schools.

Parent representatives may not be an employee or relative of an employee assigned to the district central office, nor may they be a local board member or the board member’s spouse.

Relatives, according to the SBDM by-laws, shall mean father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, son-in-law or daughter-in-law.
