Stormy weather forced the 2008 Caldwell County Relay for Life indoors Friday night, but the relocation did not damper the spirits of those participating in the walk against cancer.
A crowd of supporters packed the Community Activities Building and CCHS cafeteria for the Relay, which featured a variety of food, fun and activities.
At 9 p.m. Friday, the crowd paused for a luminaria ceremony, to remember those who lost their cancer battles and celebrate those who have survived the fight. The ceremony's featured speaker was Cindy Birrell, who spoke about the support she received during her own cancer experiences.
