Eloise Porter Jacob, 92, of Princeton, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at 7:14 p.m. at Bradford Heights in Hopkinsville, following a long illness.

A retired teacher, member of First Christian Church in Princeton, Kentucky Education Association, Caldwell County Retired Teachers Association, Caldwell County Historical Society, a volunteer at Princeton Art Guild and graduate of Murray State Teachers College, she was born May 1, 1916, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late Mallory and Pearl Lindsay Porter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin A. Jacob; two brothers, David Porter and Robert Porter; and a nephew.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Dianna and Al Herrera of Franklin, Tenn., Janie and Tommy Loyd of South Bend, Ind., and Margo and Mike Chadwell of Hopkinsville; six grandchildren, Bradley Herrera, Lindsay Herrera, John Michael Loyd, Laura Ausbrooks, Lynn Ashley Moore and Bethany Adler; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob Herrera, Brandon Ausbrooks, Brylee Loyd, Jena Loyd, Hannah Moore Mallory Moore, Alyssa Adler and Madelyn Herrera; three nephews; and a niece.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 3, at 11:30 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Cliff Jones officiating.

Burial will follow in Millwood Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
