Carter L. Travis, 90, of Princeton, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at 5:45 a.m. at Caldwell County Hospital, following a short illness.
A retired metal finisher for Chrysler Corporation and member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church and the Clinton Masonic Lodge #82, he was born Feb. 22, 1918, in Crittenden County, a son of the late James Ira and Oma Elizabeth Stinnett Travis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Faughn Travis; three sons, and three brothers, Lawrence Travis, Byron Travis and Vaughn Travis.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Vernon Travis and Loya and Ann Travis, all of Crittenden County; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 4, at 11 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Shoney Oliver officiating.
Burial will follow in Princeton Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
