Play in Youth Inc.’s summer leagues concludes this week.
Many of the leagues finished up action Tuesday night, although champions in each league had already been determined.
Top baseball teams were the Cardinals in Junior Babe Ruth, the Longhorns in Bambino Major, the Red Sox in Bambino Minor and the Cubs in Pre-Bambino.
The closest race was in Bambino Minor, where the Red Sox (8-2) swept a pair of make-up games from the Cardinals (7-3) on Friday to claim the league title by one game.
In softball, the Cardinals pulled away for the Lassie Minor championship while the Yankees took top honors in Little Lassie.
The only remaining date for Youth Inc. play is a t-ball game on Thursday.
Youth Inc.’s annual awards picnic is expected to be held in late July or early August.
