Fredonia 4th: Parade, veterans salute (w/VIDEO)
|
Friday, July 04, 2008
The City of Fredonia celebrated the Fourth of July in style, with the community's first parade in over 50 years followed by a veterans recognition program.
Both events beat the rain that moved into the area later on Friday.
The parade traveled down Cassidy Avenue, concluding at the Legion ballpark. There, Supreme Court Justice Bill Cunningham and Caldwell County Attorney Bridgie Miller were among those who addressed the crowd.
The parade is believed to be the first in Fredonia since 1951.
