Former Lady Tiger head coach Jim Hillerich has been hired as girls soccer coach at 4th District rival Dawson Springs High School.
Hillerich, who lives in Dawson Springs, was approved this week by the Dawson Springs school board.
Hillerich spent eight years leading Caldwell’s girls soccer program, compiling a 115-47-1 mark during that time.
The Lady Tigers earned a berth in the regional tournament during all eight seasons, including four district championships and a regional title in 2002. Twice, in 1998 and 2002, the Lady Tigers totaled 17 wins, posting marks of 17-3-1 and 17-4.
Hillerich resigned following the 2004 season. At the time, he noted that he “probably had 25 years” total in the coaching ranks, including wrestling.
Hillerich joins a Lady Panthers program that went just 3-12-3 a year ago, losing to Caldwell 6-0 in the district semifinals.
Meanwhile, Dawson Springs has hired Jeff Miller as its new girls basketball coach. Miller was an assistant on the boys basketball team last season.
Miller replaces William Fralick, who stepped down as girls coach to become boys head basketball coach at Dawson Springs.
Fralick, a former player and coach at Caldwell County High School, takes over a Panthers team that went 7-21 last season.
