Monday…

July 14…Weather permitting, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close U.S. 62/KY283/North Jeff­erson Street starting Monday for work involving im­­provements to a box culvert at the intersection of North Jefferson and Green streets near the Farm Bureau office to extend and improve the turn radius in the truck route. The work is expected to take about a week.

July 14…A TIGER BOOSTER CLUB SPECIAL MEETING is planned on Monday at 5:15 p.m. at the fieldhouse. All sports parents and coaches are asked to attend. The club is finalizing a fund-raiser for the booster club and getting ad sales out for distribution for the fall program. The club will be discussing fund-raisers and checking on the status of the ad sales for the programs. All coaches are asked to be present or represented. Also, parents and all persons selling ads are asked to be at this special meeting.

July 14…Living Hope Pregnancy Care Ministry offers a PARENTING/PREGNANCY CLASS each Mon­day from 6:15-7:30 p.m. at the Mary Jane Jones Com­­munity Building at 108 W. Green St. Persons who want more in­formation can call Tajuana Davis at 388-0861.

July. 14…The Kuttawa CITY COUNCIL will meet Mon­day at 7 p.m. in City Hall.

Tuesday…

July 15…A PANDEMIC FLU TABLETOP TRAINING exercise is planned on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Area Fire Traning Cener.

July 15…Caldwell County Hospital EXERCISE FOR SEN­IORS will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the hospital basement. The activity is free.

July 15…Princeton Ro­ta­ry Club meets Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. at the Majestic House. The club is accessible on the internet at http://www.princetonrotaryclub.org/.

Wednesday…

July 16…The Caldwell County CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BOARD meets Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. at the Chamber office.

July 16…The Princeton Kiwanis Club meets Wed­nes­day at noon at the Majestic House.

Thursday…

July 17…First Chris­tian Church plans a luncheon on Thursday to benefit the Week of Com­pas­sion relief fund. Lunch will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church at 510 Hopkinsville St. The cost of the meal is $7. First Christian Church will send all of the funds raised to the Week of Com­passion, which is the relief fund of the Christian Church.

July 17…The LYON County Fiscal Court meets Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Lyon County Courthouse. This is a change from the regular 9 a.m. meeting time.

July 17…The Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center plans a blood drive here next week in cooperation with the Princeton Electric Plant Board. The drive will be on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. on the bloodmobile parked at 304 E. Legion Dr.

July 17…The Lyon County Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Barkley Tourist Commission are hosting a meeting with Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at The Harbor House Bed & Breakfast on Lake Barkley Drive in Kuttawa.

July 17…The Caldwell County REPUBLICAN WOMEN’S CLUB meets Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Majestic House Restaurant. Visitors are welcome to attend.

Plan Ahead…

July 19…The Lyon County Master Gardeners will be sponsoring a garden tour of Barry Ashley’s plasticulture garden on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The public can meet at the Eddyville Extension Office at 9:15 a.m. for maps and directions. For reservations or more information, phone 388-2341.

July 22-25…Caldwell County High School art teacher Sandi Milstead is currently exhibiting artwork at the Princeton Art Guild. In conjunction with the exhibit, Milstead will instruct a four-day art workshop, “Color Explorers,” for children ages 10 and up. The workshop is set for Tuesday through Friday, July 22-25, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Princeton Art Guild. Cost for the workshop is $40 per child, which is inclusive of art supplies. To register for “Color Ex­­plorers” persons may contact the Guild at 365-3959 or by email: theartguild@bellsouth.net. Milstead’s exhibit will run through July. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Thursday 11 a.m.-4p.m. or by appointment.

July 24…The Perrys of Morristown, Tenn., will be in concert at Kuttawa First Baptist Church on Thursday at 7 p.m. The concert will be held at the KFB Activity Center. The community is welcome to this event. Admission is free and a love offering will be taken.

July 28…The LYON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet on Monday at 7 p.m. in the District Conference Center.
