A Princeton woman was cited to court on multiple charges after a crash on the Western Kentucky Parkway near Dawson Springs Friday.

Kentucky State Police said Mari Lewis, 22, was charged after wrecking a 1996 Ford Contour near the parkway’s 24-mile marker at 10:40 a.m. Friday.

Police said Lewis was westbound when she lost control of her vehicle. The car traveled through the median and crossed both eastbound lanes before exiting the eastbound shoulder.

The car came to rest upright on the shoulder, police said.

Lewis was charged with DUI, first offense, operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, possession of a suspended/revoked operator’s license, improper display of registration plates, expired registration, expired registration receipt and no insurance, first offense.

She was cited to court due to injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

Dawson Springs Fire and Rescue, the Dawson Springs Police Department and Med Center Ambulance units assisted at the scene.

• A Princeton woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Ky. 293 North at 4:26 p.m. Friday.

State police said Sharon L. Harris, 58, was southbound on the highway, approaching a juvenile riding a bicycle in the same direction off the right shoulder.

Harris slowed her 1989 Ford Festiva to go around the juvenile.

Lester C. Moore, 63, of Princeton, came up behind Harris and did not notice her deceleration.

Moore’s 1978 Ford F-150 struck Harris’s vehicle from behind.

County EMS units transported Harris to the Caldwell County Hospital ER. Moore was not injured, police said.

Both were wearing seat belts.
