Thursday…

Sept. 18…Caldwell County Hospital EXERCISE FOR SEN­IORS will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the hospital basement. The activity is free.

Sept. 18…A Princeton GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP meets on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the basement of Ogden Methodist Church. The meeting is open to the public, and there is no charge. Meetings are the first and third Thursdays of each month.

Sept. 18…The FREDONIA CLOTHES CLOSET at the Fre­donia First Baptist Church Family Life Center will be closed until Oct. 2, as the transition is made from summer to fall/winter clothing. The plan is to reopen the clothes closet on the first Thursday in October.

Sept. 18…The Caldwell County Free Clinic opens at 5 p.m. Thursday in the basement of Central Pres­by­terian Church.

Sept. 18…The Caldwell County RE­­PUB­­LICAN WOMEN’S CLUB will hold its regular meeting Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Majestic Steak House. Visitors are welcome.

Friday…

Sept. 19-21…A benefit rally, poker run and auction has been scheduled at 10915 S. Jefferson St. to raise funds for Tori Oakley, 13, who is battling can­cer. Admission is $15 per person and allows camping, participation in the poker run and entertainment. Gates open for camping at 3 p.m. Fri­day with entertainment by a DJ. The poker run takes place Saturday with the first bike out at 10 a.m. and the last bike out at noon. An auction will follow. Entertain­ment will be provided from 8 p.m. to midnight by Russ Calhoun and Cum­berland Road. Those wishing to donate items for the auction or make financial contributions may con­­tact Jami Bates at (270) 601-1255.

Saturday…

Sept. 20…Caldwell County CANCER SUPPORT GROUP meets on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the George Coon Library. The group is scheduled to meet every other Saturday.

Sept. 20…The CALVERT CEMETERIES meeting will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with potluck at New Haven General Baptist Church, 196 E. Washington St. Interested persons are encouraged to attend and “make decisions.”

Sept. 20…The YOUTH BOWLING LEAGUE starts at Lucky Strike Lanes at 11 a.m. Saturday. Youth are encouraged to show up and participate even if they missed registration.

Sept. 20…The Celebrate Recovery program’s first annual celebration will be held Satur­day from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Northside Baptist Church activity building at 121 Dawson Road. Testimonies, live music and food will be offered during the event.

Sunday…

Sept. 21…A Caldwell County Sportsman Club membership TRAPSHOOT is scheduled on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the sportsman range on U.S. 62-East.

Sept. 21…HARRISON STREET BAPTIST CHURCH will celebrate HOMECOMING Sunday with a meal at 2 p.m. and special speaking at 3 p.m.

Sept. 21…CELEBRATE RECOVERY, a Christian 12-step pro­­­gram for addiction co-dependency, any other hurts, habits and hangups is planned Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in the Northside Baptist Church Sanctuary. A meal is served and the group extends a welcome to all interested.

Plan ahead…

Sept. 22…Five Caldwell County Primary School SBDM committees will meet Monday at 3 p.m. at the school. They are WELLNESS, SCHOOL RE­­LA­TIONS, LIT­ERA­CY, TECHNOLOGY and CURRICULUM com­mit­tees.

Sept. 22…The LYON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION regular meeting will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. in the District Conference Center. The board will meet at 6:30 p.m., prior to the meeting, at the Middle School to view ACR issues.

Sept. 23…A BEEF CATTLE FIELD DAY is planned Tues­day at 1 p.m. at the UK Research and Education Center.

Sept. 23…CUB SCOUTS PACK 289 will have signup on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the LDS Church, 855 Hopkinsville St. Pack 289 has been in existence for 35 years. Boys do not have to be a member of the church to join the Pack.Sept. 25…Caldwell County Animal Rescue meets Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Pennyrile Regional Training Center.

Sept. 26-27…The KUTTAWA HARVEST FESTIVAL is planned on Friday and Saturday at the Old Kuttawa Beach. Events Friday begin at 4 p.m. and activities start at 8 a.m. on Saturday and continue throughout the day with fireworks at 9 p.m.

Sept. 27…The ROWLAND CEMETERY quarterly meeting is planned on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the cemetery office. All interested persons are welcome.

Sept. 27…Lyon County Champions for a Drug-Free Kentucky is the sponsor for a car, truck and SUV cruise-in at the West KY Outlet Center Parking Lot in Eddyville on Saturday. The show is from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is the day of the show. Vehicle registration and attendance are free. Trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m. in both open class and under age 18 class. Live entertainment is planned. Additional sponsors are the Lyon County Chamber of Commerce, TLM Resolutions Multimedia and American National Insurance.

Oct. 2…Family Reading night is planned on Thurs­day at 5:30 p.m. at Caldwell County Primary School. The event features author Michael Shoulders, whose books will be for sale. He will autograph and personalize them. Refreshments will be available. All persons are welcome.

Oct. 11…A HAM RADIO CLASS will be presented by the Princeton Ham Radio Club on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Caldwell County EMS Building. A test for technician license will be given at 4 p.m.

Volun­teers and foster families are being recruited to assist the program locally. Staffed by volunteers, the Caldwell County Animal Res­cue facility, located between Food Giant and the ball fields on Cadiz Road, is open each Monday, Wednesday and Fri­day from 4-6 p.m.
