The Caldwell County Tiger Sharks swim team picked up a win at Madisonville on Thursday.

“It was a very close meet all the way but we were able to win it,” noted coach Ben Clayton, whose squad prevailed 465 points to 399.

“All of our swimmers did well and I was proud of our showing.”

The previous week, the local squad was defeated 835-550 at Calvert City.

“They have a lot of kids that swim year-round,” noted Clayton. “We led early, but they have so many older kids that they were able to pull away.

“I was still proud of our effort. I thought everybody swam well and we had a lot of our best times this year.”

The Tiger Sharks are scheduled to swim at Crittenden County on Thursday, July 2.
