Three Princeton residents, including a young child, were treated and released from the Caldwell County Hospital ER after a two-vehicle crash on the Sandlick Road Sunday, June 21.
Princeton Police Chief Don Weedman said the crash occurred at 7:58 p.m. between P’Pool Drive and Melanie Lane.
Police said Heather Wright, 25, of West Washington Street, and a 3-year-old passenger were eastbound when Wright apparently looked away from the roadway and crossed the center line.
The 2002 Oldsmobile she was driving struck an oncoming 1995 Dodge pickup driven by Howard Tucker, 21, of Rock Springs Road.
The front drivers’ sides of each vehicle collided.
Wright’s Oldsmobile lost a wheel and axle and continued down the road a short distance before coming to rest.
Tucker’s pickup overturned and came to rest on its passenger’s side, police said.
Wright and the toddler were extricated by Princeton Fire and Rescue units.
All three parties were transported by Caldwell County EMS personnel to the emergency room, where they were treated and released.
None of the individuals involved reported wearing a seat belt, and the child was not restrained, police said.
Investigation continues.
