Sunday…

Nov. 29…Kuttawa Baptist Church invites the community to a “Hanging of the Greens” service on Sunday at 6 p.m. The church is located at 316 Walnut Dr. Music and readings will be presented.

Monday…

Nov. 30…The Caldwell County DEMOCRATIC WOMAN’S Club will meet Monday at 5:15 p.m. at Pagliai’s Restau­rant. All members and interested persons are urged to attend. New officers will be installed and County Attorney Bridgie Miller will be the guest speaker.

Nov. 30…The Tiger Booster Club meeting will be Monday at 5:15 p.m. Coaches are asked to attend to discuss the candy bar sales.

Nov. 30…Moms in Touch International (MITI), a prayer group for mothers and grandmothers, meets Monday at 7 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, and is open to all interested persons. For more information, contact Jackie Murray at 963-6326.

Tuesday…

Dec. 1…Princeton Ro­ta­ry Club meets Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. at the Majestic House. The club is Internet accessible at http://www.princetonrotaryclub.org/.

Dec. 1…Caldwell County Animal Rescue is seeking crafters and artisans to participate in its first ever Christmas Bazaar. The event, which CCAR members hope will become an annual affair, is planned at Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church on Main Street on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Booth fees and proceeds of a silent auction will be used to benefit CCAR. Artisans and crafters should contact Jim Russell at 270-365-7133 or 270-519-6036 for information. The deadline for booth reservation is Dec. 1.

Dec. 1…The Caldwell County Library Board and Adsmore Board of Directors meet Tuesday, Dec. 1. The library board will meet at 4 p.m. and the Adsmore board at 4:30 p.m. at the library. The meetings were rescheduled from Nov. 25.

Dec. 1…The Princeton Business and Profession­al Women’s Club will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Margaret Osting at 503 S. Jefferson St. for the annual Christmas potluck and ornament exchange.

Dec. 1…Caldwell County HIGH SCHOOL SBDM COUNCIL will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the school library.

Wednesday…

Dec. 2…The LYON COUNTY MINISTERIAL ASSOCIA­TION is scheduled to meet Wednesday at 8 a.m. in the OK Patton Senior Citizens’ Center in Eddyville.

Plan Ahead…

Dec. 3…“Memories of Christmas Past” will be the program for the Caldwell County Historical Society meeting on Thursday. The group will meet at 7 p.m. at the George Coon Library. The public is welcome to attend.

Dec. 3…The American Red Cross will hold a community blood drive at Princeton First Baptist Church, 300 W. Main St., on Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. Pros­pective donors should also bring a photo ID and/or Red Cross Donor Card. Persons who want more information or to schedule an appointment can call Anita James at 365-0229. Walk-ins are welcome.

Dec. 3…H1N1 vaccine will be offered to Caldwell County residents in a special Mass ComMunity Clinic on Thurs­day. Pennyrile District Health De­­­­partment personnel will offer the Caldwell H1N1 flu vaccinations from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Caldwell County Senior Citizens Building.

Dec. 5…The 3rd annual FREE CLINIC “COOKIES FOR A CAUSE” COOKIE WALK is planned Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Princeton Tourist Center, 201 E. Main St. Homemade cookies will be sold at $5 per pound with proceeds to benefit the Caldwell County Free Clinic, Inc. The Free Clinic serves healthcare needs of individuals without medical insurance in Caldwell, Lyon, Crittenden counties and Dawson Springs.

Dec. 6…A power outage for all customers on the Princeton Electric Plant Board system has been scheduled for Sunday from 12:01 to 4 a.m. The outage will complete the utility’s scheduled outages for construction activities related to the Plant Board’s conversion to E.ON transmission services. Until the transmission conversion is completed, though, unexpected system conditions may cause additional unplanned outages. All Internet customers served by other electric companies will also be affected by the outage. The outage may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.

Dec. 6…The Princeton Business and Professional Women’s Club annual Christmas Home Tour will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Homes featured include Phyllis Hoffman, Jim and Tracey Musgove, Pratt Bed and Breakfast, Bright Life Farms and the Princeton Art Guild.

Dec. 6…The annual ELKS MEMORIAL SERVICE is planned on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Princeton Elks Lodge #1115. All Elks and their families are invited.

Dec. 13…The Princeton Community Christmas Concert is Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church. The concert is open to any area musicians wanting to offer holiday selections. Those planning to participate should contact Dr. Jenny Franke at 365-1050 by Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Dec. 14…PRIVATE PESTICIDE APPLICATOR TRAINING is planned on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Extension office.

Dec. 20…The YVONNE DODGE STUDIO presents “Christmas at the Knott Museum” annual open house from 2-5 p.m. Musical performances and free admission to the gallery are open to the public.

Dec. 22…Eddy Creek Baptist Church will present “Christmas in America” Concert with Eric Horn­er on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

NOW…Students at Caldwell County High School can pick up 2010 Governor’s Scholars Program applications in the high school guidance office. Applications must be turned in to Mrs. Judy Edwards by 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2. To be eligible to apply, the student must be in the 11th grade, have taken the PSAT, SAT or ACT and have good academic standing.

BLACK OAK VINEYARD has extended hours through the holiday season. The vineyard shop is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon until 6 p.m.
