A disturbance at a North Jefferson Street residence led to the arrests of two Mediacom employees Thursday afternoon.
Princeton police arrested Shannon K. Parker, 46, of Indian Avenue, Oak Grove, and 55-year-old Phillip R. Tosh of Centennial Drive at 2:19 p.m.
Assistant Chief R.L. Howton said the arrests came after police responded to a complaint at 509 North Jefferson St.
Parker, an employee of the cable company, was working at the home on a cable issue when an argument between him and the resident developed.
When officers arrived at the scene, Parker, who was reportedly being loud and using obscene language, refused to comply with their commands to calm down.
When they attempted to take him into custody, Tosh, Parker’s supervisor, intervened and pushed one of the officers back, Howton said.
Parker and Tosh were both taken into custody and lodged in the county jail.
Parker was charged with disorderly conduct. Tosh was charged with third-degree assault on a police officer and hindering prosecution or apprehension.
The investigation continues, and other charges are possible, police said.
• Constance F. Oliver, 42, of Varmint Trace, was arrested at 10:41 a.m. Wednesday after a shoplifting complaint at Walmart.
Walmart employees told officers that Oliver was observed concealing several items in her purse and attempting to leave the store without paying. The items had a combined value of $105, employees said.
Oliver was taken into custody on a charge of theft by unlawful taking under $500 and jailed.
