Barbara Ellen Van Hooser, 86, of Princeton, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at Princeton Health and Rehab.
A daughter of the late Hobert Henry and Thelma Lucille Duvall Traylor, she was a charter member of the Caldwell County Historical Society and was a 1949 graduate of Fredonia High School. She retired following 16 years as Caldwell County Clerk. She was a member of Princeton First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Phillip Van Hooser; her second husband, Robert Joseph Schiltz; two stepsons; three sisters, Margaret Wiggington, Pansy Paris and Joyce Vinson; and two brothers, LeRoy Traylor and Billy Joe Traylor.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Sam Dunning of Caldwell County; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Phillip and Susan Van Hooser of Caldwell County, Mark and Mona Van Hooser of Princeton, and John Daniel Van Hooser of Puryear, Tenn.; a stepson, Jeff Schiltz of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Jim McDaniel and the Rev. Russ Davidson officiating, with Shawn and Laura Fagin providing music.
Burial will follow in Morse Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home.
