The Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) applications are due Jan. 10 at 11:59 p.m. There is no cost. Kentucky high school sophomore and junior students are eligible to apply.
Each summer, GSA hosts more than 250 talented high school students from every region of the Commonwealth for a three-week, tuition-free immersive residential program on a college campus. During this program, student artists engage in studies across nine disciplines: Architecture + Design, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Film + Photography, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, Visual Art and Vocal Music.
GSA is looking for students with skills in their art form, passion for creativity, an open mind, collaborative spirit, and eagerness for learning to apply for the 2021 Summer Program. With the January 10 deadline approaching, applicants have one more week to submit their materials to be considered for this competitive program. Students are encouraged to upload their applications before this date; GSA offices will not be staffed over the weekend and we will not be accessible to answer questions after January 8th.
GSA seeks applicants of all backgrounds and identities, regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, hometown setting, mental and physical health or ability, language, religious belief, political leaning, or cultural background. Translations of our materials are available upon request, and while the GSA application is online, students without access to reliable internet are encouraged to contact the program to discuss accommodations.
