Chief Deputy Chris Noel reports -

• Caldwell County Sheriff’s Deputy Kenneth Vincent received information of an alleged illegal relationship between a minor (under the age of 16) and an adult (over the age of 21) and that the crime may have occurred in Caldwell County. In the course of the investigation, it was determined Brandon L. Sherill, 36, of Caldwell County, did have an illegal relationship with a juvenile under the age of 16. On Aug. 24, at 1:30 p.m., Deputy Vincent filed charges and arrested Sherill on four counts each of the following: rape, third degree; sodomy, third degree; and sexual abuse, first degee. Sherill was lodged in the Caldell County jail.

• On Aug. 24, at 2:58 p.m., Caldwell County Sheriff’s Deputy Coleman Dixon served and arrested Shaun Brasher, 32, of Fredonia, on a Crittenden County District Court warrant for trafficking in marijuana, less than 8 ounces, first offense; drug paraphernalia, buy/possess; and terroristic threatening, third degree. Brasher was lodged in the Caldwell County jail.

• On Aug. 24, at 8:22 p.m., Caldwell County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Travis served and arrested Michael McCaslin, 44, of Farmersville Rd., Princeton, on a Caldwell County District Court warrant for probation violation for a misdemeanor offense, theft by unlawful taking/disposition under $500. McCaslin was lodged in the Caldwell County jail.
