Due to COVID-19, Fredonia Lions Club was unable to have the 54th annual Summer Festival, which is the main fundraiser for the year. The club is reaching out to the community for support by offering a raffle on a Golden Boy .22 mag Henry rifle, which has been donated to the club.

Tickets are available at one for $5 or five for $20 at the following locations: Fredonia Valley Bank, The Coon Dog Inn, Akridge Farm Supply and Coppertop Barbecue in Fredonia, or by contacting a club member. The drawing will take place during the Nov. 12 Lions Club meeting.

The Lions Club provides assistance with eye exams and eye glasses for those in need, as well as supporting the Easter Seal Telethon of Stars in Paducah, Bright Life Farms and Pennyroyal Industries. Scholarships are also provided for deserving seniors in the Fredonia community as well supporting other projects. The club said without community support, the services may not be able to continue. The National Lions Club is the largest service organization in the world. “We see, we care, we serve.” The community is asked to support local Lions.
