On Dec. 10, what is now known as the quad-state tornado event heavily impacted western Kentucky affecting many people and businesses — including team members of the Hydro-Gear facility in Princeton. Among those, 17 employees lost their home and all belongings with numerous others impacted.

In an effort to support our families, Hydro-Gear quickly reached out to ensure immediate needs were being met and then established the Hydro-Gear Employee Quad-State Tornado Response Committee to coordinate ongoing support activities. The timing of these losses being so close to the holidays made them especially troubling, yet the outpouring of support has been truly remarkable.

Thanks to generous donations, the Hydro-Gear family including parent companies Danfoss (Bitten & Mads Clausen Foundation) and Agri-Fab, suppliers, customers, the community and even a turf-market competitor, we were able to distribute funds to these families just before Christmas to brighten their spirits and provide some much-needed relief.

In addition to monetary assistance, Hydro-Gear team members rallied to gather gifts for the 16 children impacted to help make the holidays special for them. On behalf of these families, Hydro-Gear wishes to thank everyone who has played a part in providing assistance during this difficult time.

While nothing can replace what has been lost, the Hydro-Gear extended family is in this together and standing with those affected. The essence of the Hydro-Gear culture, partners, and communities is truly the willingness and generosity to help each other in times we need it most. For those many families across the Midwest and Southeast who experienced the devasting loss of loved ones during this event, Hydro-Gear extends sincere condolences.

As rebuilding begins, we say thank you again to the Hydro-Gear family, network, and community for your continued thoughts, prayers, and unconditional support that has provided hope for the future.
