Jackson-Hewitt opens new location with ceremony

On hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Princeton location of Jackson-Hewitt on Monday were (from left) Chad Oliver, executive director of the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce; Jake Pepper, Caldwell Chamber of Commerce Board member; Allee Coleman, Caldwell Chamber of Commerce Board member; Lizzie Shelton, Caldwell Chamber of Commerce Board member; Lori Winters, office manager; Virginia Adams, Jackson-Hewitt general manager; Bart Loyd, Jackson-Hewitt franchisee; and Dan Curly, Jackson-Hewitt regional director.

The Princeton location for Jackson-Hewitt held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday, in time to showcase their site for the upcoming tax preparation season.

The tax service was located at the Princeton Walmart, but was able to get its own site at 1016 W. Main St., which opened in December.

Princeton Office Manager Lori Winters said having its own location will help bring more customers to the business.

“Our clients were amazing to us last year,” she said. “We won an award for best first-year storefront in the nation with Jackson-Hewitt.

“Because our clients were so good to us, we were able to get a better location, a little better office.”

Jackson-Hewitt provides tax preparation that is electronically field. It offers a refund advance available through the middle of February to allow customers to get up to $4,000 with no fee.

“They get that advance on their tax return, which is even more important this year because of the (Internal Revenue Service) opening later,” said Jackson-Hewitt General Manager Virginia Adams. “They won’t be open until the 12th, so it will be much later than that before they start processing refunds.

“We’re hoping the advance will help people, help tide them over until the refunds come in.”

Jackson-Hewitt is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The Princeton office can be reached at 270-365-5002.
