Kelly James of Princeton is pictured with her certificate for writing the winning essay in the Conservation District’s Jim Claypool Writing Contest.

The Caldwell County Conservation District recently recognized Kelly James, of Princeton, on her award winning Jim Claypool Writing Contest submission. James is the daughter of Doug James and the late Anita Cartwright James. Her essay included many great topics on Kentucky’s Mighty Oaks and Conservation. She received a certificate and prizes for both the high School winner and the District overall winner. Her essay advanced to the state level where she was named the Area 1 winner.
