The Caldwell County Band of Pride participated Saturday in Murray State Band Day. More than 700 students from five different states took to the MSU stadium field for a day of fellowship, practice and performance.
Students were encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes and got to perform "2001" and "Thriller" with the Racer Band during halftime of the football game against Austin Peay.
Matt Brewer, a Caldwell County High School sophomore, was excited for Band Day at MSU. He plays the snare drum and has been in the marching band for three years.
"The experience was very great," said Brewer, 15. "Not only was it great to march with the Racers, but also with my peers and people that are as good as I am."
About 20 members of the Band of Pride attended the event.
"I would most defintely go again," Brewer said.
