Caldwell County's representation in the upper chamber of the Kentucky General Assembly has been appointed to a key leadership position.
Sen. Robby Mills, R-Henderson, will serve as the new vice chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on State & Local Government. The Senate Majority Caucus announced its committee assignments last week for the 2020 legislative session.
"I am honored to serve as the vice chairman of the Senate State & Local Government Committee," Mills said. "As a former 18-year city commissioner, I understand how important local government is to our communities in western Kentucky, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to help form government policies that benefit all Kentuckians."
The committee oversees matters pertaining to state and local jurisdictions of government as well as Kentucky's interaction with the federal government.
Mills, two years into his first term in the Senate, represents Senate District 4, which includes Caldwell, Crittenden, Livingston, Union, Webster and Henderson counties. Previously, he served in the Kentucky House of Representatives.
