Caldwell Medical Center will expand early next month by opening Caldwell Medical Associates Orthopedic Clinic in Princeton.
"The Orthopedic Clinic is a huge step forward for the hospital and our community," Caldwell Medical Center CEO Dan Odegaard said. "There is a lot of need for these services with our local population and there is no reason that people shouldn't be able to get those services right here at home."
He described the clinic as a "game changer" because of its services and convenient location off Highway 62, near the hospital.
"We could not be more thrilled to have an opportunity like this to bring quality and needed care to our patients and save them an unnecessary trip out of town," Odegaard said.
According to a news release, Russell Peyton, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, will oversee a wide range of basic services, including basic fracture care, splinting, casting, joint injections, back and spinal pain treatment, work injuries, bone health evaluation, osteoporosis management, sports physicals, and sports medicine. He is currently accepting new patients and taking appointments.
Hospital spokesman Joe Duncan said the clinic is a health care addition the community needs.
"Most everything that we do as far as the decisions that we make about what clinics to open and what services to add start with patient needs and what we hear from the residents," said Duncan, a Princeton resident.
Duncan said the clinic has already scheduled appointments.
"We've had people commenting on our Facebook page that they're really excited about it and that it's something they've been looking for, " Duncan said. "I anticipate that the reaction will remain positive once the clinic opens."
The new clinic is located at 550 U.S. Highway 62 West, Suite 400, where Hibbett Sports was previously located. It will open in early December. For more information or to make an appointment, call the clinic at 270-365-9599.
