Remember the Removal Bike Riders traveled to the Trail of Tears Commemorative Park in Princeton on Friday, June 7. The Removal Riders bike 950 miles along the Trail of Tears in honor of their ancestors who were forced to take it over 180 years ago. According to their website, the Cherokee Nation has been doing this since 1984. Now, riders have to go through an interview process then complete a physical test and six months of training. They begin in New Echota, Georgia, and cycle across seven states before ending the journey in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
