Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 2,500 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad.
While coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies each December on National Wreaths Across America Day is a big part of what the orginazation does, the mission is to Remember, Honor and Teach throughout the year.
The wreaths placed on graves are done so by fundraising and sponsors of wreaths.
To sponsor a wreath, persons may go to wreathsacrossamerica.org, and click on sponsor a wreath.
Family members of the fallen can participate this year by visiting their loved one’s grave and placing a wreath, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, on December 18, at noon.
Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West released the following statement:
“REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.”
On December 18, at noon, Wreaths Across America will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West-KVCW in Hopkinsville to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.
Please help our location lay wreaths at as many graves as possible by clicking the red “Sponsor” button on the wreathsacrossamerica.org page.
Or, if you would like to volunteer to participate in the wreath laying ceremony, please click the “Volunteer” button next to the cemetery name on the same page, and don’t forget to click the “Invite” button to invite your friends and family to join you.
