On Oct. 8, at 9:18 a.m., Caldwell County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to Marion Road at mile marker 17 in reference to an overturned tractor trailer. Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy Coleman Dixon determined Jimmy Maulding, 43, of Madisonville, was operating a tractor trailer for Brett Chappell Trucking out of Dawson Springs when a rear axle on the truck locked up.
Maulding was southbound on Marion Road, approaching Skin Frame Road, and as he was going around the curve the trailer came loose and dropped off the right side of the road in a ditch line, striking a mailbox and overturning onto the passenger side, coming to final rest on the roadway and ditch line.
Maulding was hauling tire scraps which emptied into the field. No injuries were reported at the scene. The Sheriff’s Department was assisted on scene by Jeff’s Towing our of Madisonville, Caldwell County Fire and Rescue, Caldwell County EMS adn the KY State Highway Department.
