• On May 4, at 8:20 p.m., officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at Walmart. Officers made contact with Brian H. McClain, 40, of Madisonville. An investigation revealed that he had left the store with more than $500 worth of merchandise without purchasing them. McClain was taken into custody and charged with theft by unlawful taking/shoplifting over $500.

• On May 5, at 10:32 p.m., officers responded to a prowler complaint near the 500 block of North Jefferson Street. Officers were notified that a subject that matched the description of the prowler was in the parking lot of the jail. Officers made contact with Dwight S. Smith, 52, of Princeton, and determined he was under the influence of intoxicants. Smith was taken into custody and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, first offense.

• On May 9, at 6:15 a.m., officers responded to the jail in reference to an inmate assault on a corrections employee. Officers made contact with Veronia Martinez, 50, homeless, and investigation revealed she had assaulted a deputy jailer causing minor injury. Martinez was charged with assault, third degree, on a corrections officer.

• On May 11, at 4:41 p.m., officers responded to a residence on North Seminary Street for a domestic complaint. The victim stated she had been assaulted by Kade M. Brown, 21, of Princeton. Investigation revealed that a physical altercation occurred and Brown was taken into custody and charged with assault, fourth degree, domestic violence with minor injury, disorderly conduct, second degree, failure to notify address change and resisting arrest.
