It’s once again time for the Princeton Rotary Club’s annual speech contest. The 2023 theme is “Imagine Rotary.”
The contest is open to all high school students in grades nine through 12, including those in public, private, independent or home schools. The contest will take place on Tuesday, March 7 at noon at the Majestic House Restaurant. The Majestic House is located at 208 US Highway 62 in Princeton.
Each student will need to complete a registration and media release form. Caldwell County High School has these forms and information about the contest available at the guidance office. Students at other schools can email princetonrotaryclub@gmail,com for forms and with any questions.
The top three places will receive cash prizes. First place will receive $300, second place will receive $200 and third place will receive $100.
This year’s theme was chosen by Rotary International President-elect Jennifer Jones. According to Rotary International, Jones hopes Rotary members will imagine the changes and possibilities they can affect in the world around them. Her entire presentation is available online at rotary.org if students are seeking inspiration for their speeches.
