Traffic on Ky. 128 south of Princeton was diverted for about 6 1/2 hours Friday when a tractor-trailer overturned, spilling part of its cargo onto the highway.
The call came to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office at 5:55 p.m. that a southbound semi had overturned on the highway between Ky. 91 and Ky. 126. The semi was reportedly carrying canned foods.
Stinnett Wrecker Service of Lyon County was able to get the semi upright. No injuries were reported in the accident.
The sheriff’s department reported that the semi went off the right shoulder of the highway and overcorrected, causing the semi to overturn. The road was reopened about 11:30 p.m.
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Caldwell County Fire Department and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
