Betty Scott, 83, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at her daughter’s residence. She was a retired seamstress at Princeton Hosiery Mill and a member of Shepherd Street Baptist Church where she sat on the Mothers board, sang in the adult choir and member of the Missionary Society. She enjoyed reading, taking long walks, sewing, playing solitaire and talking on the phone. She was a loving mother and a dedicated preacher’s wife for more than 30 years.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Scott of Hopkinsville and Brenda Arnold of Paducah; one brother, Michael Thompson and wife Beatrice; one granddaughter, Sierra Scott; and one great-grandchild, Gyft Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Samuel Scott; her parents, Robert Thompson and Edna Mae Payne Thompson; one sister, Mildred Copeland; and five brothers, Fredrick Thompson, Howard Thompson, Joseph Thompson, Edward Thompson and Robert Thompson.

Visitation will be held for Betty Scott from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Brasher and Rev C.E. Temberlake officiating. Burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
