Gerald Thomas Igleheart, 78, of Princeton, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at his home.
Born June 7, 1941, he was a son of the late Murtry Moore Igleheart Sr. and Verla Mae Tucker Igleheart. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Friends of Pennyrile. He was a retired manager, farmer, farrier and raised cattle and horses. He helped repair 50 miles of riding trails in Pennyrile Forest following the 2009 ice storm. He was a 1959 graduate of Sacramento High School, where he played on the state champion runner up basketball team.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Murtry Moore Igleheart Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Mary Jane Orange Igleheart; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Dana Hartigan of Caldwell County; a son and daughter-in-law, Kerry Michael and Rita Igleheart of Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren, Holly Hartigan Greene and husband Zack of Caldwell County, Heather Hartigan Dooley and Desmond of Henderson, and Mia Igleheart of North Carolina; three great-grandchildren, Savanna Dooley, Caleb Greene and Wyatt Greene; a sister, Virginia Lois Barnett and husband Billy of Sacramento; and a brother, James Igleheart and wife Donella of Sacramento.
Funeral services will be held Thurday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Dean Ray officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mark Faughn.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
