Glen A. Keel, 83, of Fredonia, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Glen was born on March 26, 1938, in Kevil, to his late parents, Lacy and Lottie Patterson Keel. He was a farmer after retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy where he served two deployments in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion and proud of the Fredonia Valley Veterans Memorial. In addition to farming, he mowed all the time and enjoyed gardening and tending to his homestead where he built a campground around his pond for his family to enjoy. He loved his dogs and spending time with his grandkids. He was also an active supporter of the Fredonia Ball Park where he worked concessions.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Agnes Traylor Keel of Fredonia; two daughters, Rhonda Hunt of Fredonia, Sandra Singh of Panama City,Florida; one son, Doug (Janice) Keel of Fredonia; one sister, Jayne Hillyard of Princeton; one brother, Larry (Kathy) Keel of Evansville, Indiana; seven grandchildren, James (Kayla) Hunt, David Hunt, Amy (Larry) Turner, Rockelle Gray, Kayla (Tyler) Shepard, Sarah (Dray) Heaton and Travis Keel; eight great-grandchildren, Ethen Hunt, Anthony Hunt, Brooklyn Strayhorn, Tristan Gray, Jackson Strayhorn, Hudson Turner, Blakely Shepard, Henry Heaton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Lottie Bell Patterson Keel; three sisters, Mildred Keel Shumaker, June Morse Parker, Joyce Tandy; one brother, David Keel.

Visitation were held Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Presley Lamm officiating. Burial will follow at Rowland Cemetery in Caldwell County.
