James “Jim” T. Boren, 88, of Cadiz, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at Mercy Health — Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
He was born in Princeton on Nov. 5, 1932 to the late Lewis Boren and Katie Smith Boren Sholar.
Jim was a retired engineer from the state highway department and a member of the Canton Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and golfer and enjoyed playing pool.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, June Boren; and one son, Stephen Boren.
Survivors include wife, Betty Lou DeShazo Boren, Cadiz; two sons, David Boren (Beth), Cadiz, John Boren (Patricia) Owensboro; three stepsons, Bill Harris, Amarillo, Texas; Russell Harris, Los Angeles, California; Sam Harris, Jr., Amarillo, Texas; brothers, Twyman Boren (Betty), Princeton, Bob Boren (Shirley), Virginia; daughter-In-law, Lisa Boren, Hopkinsville; three grandchildren, Wesley Boren, Hopkinsville; Meagan Lynn White (Jared), Nashville; Kayla Danielle Boren, Louisville; three great grandchildren, Audrey, Jonas & Mila; three step grandchildren and Five Step Great Grandchildren.
Private Family Graveside Services for 88 year old James T. “Jim” Boren of Cadiz will be noon Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at Canton Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chase Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Canton Baptist Church Cemetery
