Lawrence “Larry” Dossey, 95, of Grand Rivers, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, at his home.
He was a son of the late Hubert and Marie Bailey Dossey. He was a member of Lake City Baptist Church, a Mason and a Shriner, a retired welding supervisor and inspector in the construction industry and a WWII U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hightower; a daughter, Barbara Jean Dossey; a great-grandson, Matthew Dossey; and a brother, Dale Dossey.
Survivors include a daugther, Shirley Wilson of Grand Rivers; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Tina Dossey of Palestine, IL; five grandchildren, Shawn Dossey, Justin Dossey, Tina Beyer, Rod Wilson Jr., and Jessica Shackleford; and 12 great-grandchildren; Tate, Cole, Emalee, Lilly, Lainey, Lakin, Bailey, Collin, McKenzie, Madison, Melanie, and Miles.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. at Lake City Baptist Church with the Rev. Mac Walls officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in Dixon Cemeterty in Grand Rivers.
Visitation will be from noon to the service time Thursday, Jan. 16, at the church.
