Lonnie Puckett, 77, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at his home.

Lonnie was born on May 8, 1943, in Dycusburg, to his late parents, Roy Baxter and Thelma Martin Puckett. He was a veteran of the United States Army 101st Airborne and served during the Vietnam Era as a paratrooper. Lonnie then retired as a logger and was known for his love of the outdoors, having taken in baby squirrels (Chip and Dale), raccoon, groundhog and even an owl. He loved fishing and the Green Bay Packers. He especially loved children and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his four sons, Timmy (Deirdre) Puckett, Bryan Puckett, Lonnie Puckett all of Central City, Jeremy (Jamie) Puckett of Princeton; step-daughter, Stacey Morris of Dawson Springs; stepson, Johnny (Barbara) Valentine of Hopkinsville; two sisters, Nina Whitney of Princeton, DeVona Puckett of Paducah; brother, Bobby Dean Puckett of Eddyville; 10 grandchildren; ex-wives, Sandra Morgan of Central City, Donna Lynn Prowell Puckett of Princeton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Kelly Ann Puckett; son, Ricky Puckett; step-son, Walt “Bubba” Valentine; sister, Alice Drollinger; brother, Roy “Bug” Puckett.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Doug Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Dycusburg Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
