Mable Ricks Burns, 96, of Princeton, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, at Caldwell Medical Center.

She was born on July 3, 1924, to her late parents, John and Florence Henson Ricks in Trigg County. Mable was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church and was a seamstress at Cumberland Manufacturing.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly (Ricky) Traylor of Princeton; one son, Barry (Rhonda) Burns of Princeton; four grandchildren, Justin (Jessie) Traylor of Princeton, Cody Traylor, and fiance Courtney Day of Princeton, Landon (Alivia) Burns of Dunmor, and Shane Burns of Princeton; one great-grandchild, Peyton Traylor; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Edward Leon Burns; six sisters, Beatrice Sivills, Myrtle Wyatt, Uler Carr, Pearl Wyatt, Sudie Thomas and Mary Lois Kem; and one brother, Earlie Preston Ricks.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Don Mathis officiating and Kyle Noffsinger assisting. Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
