Margaret Jewel (Vinson) Tooley, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Margaret was born in Caldwell County, Kentucky on August 9, 1929 to the late Raymon and Hazel (Booker)Vinson. She retired from Bernardin Bottle Cap Company and continued to work as a house keeper at Deaconess Hospital until she was 88 years old. Margaret’s faith was very important to her. She had been a member of Northeast Park Baptist Church for 5 years. Her giving heart and kindness is what made her special, never meeting a stranger or giving to someone in need. Margaret enjoyed going to lunch with friends and family. She was a great cook, loved watching the news, the Voice and the Hallmark Channel. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her children, Pamela Arvin of Evansville, Indiana, Diana Yonts (Ronald) of Princeton, Kentucky, Elaine Bevels, Jeff Meeks, Ron Harper (Karla) and Rodger Harper; sisters, Kathleen Oliver of Princeton, Kentucky, Jane Dorroh of Princeton, Kentucky, and Janice Burkhart of Clarksville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Sheila Fortner, Skipper Fortner, Troy Harper (Lori), Andy Bevels (Vanessa), Krystal Bevels, Jessica Arvin (John Martin), James Arvin (Jessica), Michaela Abrego (Jaime), Scotty Meeks (Sarah), Maleah Jackson (Chris), Steven Harper (Nicole) and Brian Harper (Casey); 19 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, John Tooley; daughter, Jessica Lynn Meeks; her parents; sons-in-law, Michael Arvin and Billy Fortner; daughter-in-law, Gloria Harper and brother, Jerry Vinson.

A celebration of Margaret’s life was held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Northeast Park Baptist Church in Evansville with Pastor Steve Taylor officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
