Otho Carroll “Buddy” Storms, age 78, of Princeton, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020, at his home. He was a former heavy equipment operator in the coal industry and for Watson Excavating and Clyde Ortt. He had been employed as a carpenter for Arevans Rowland. His hobbies included taking his grandchildren and great-grandchildren fishing and four-wheeler riding. Buddy was an avid gardener, growing fresh vegetables to give to family and friends. He was everyone’s favorite uncle, always giving every child a piece of gum or some other kind of treat.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Kingston Storms; one daughter, Dena Martin and husband, J.R. of Princeton; one son, David Storms and wife, Cheri of Princeton; one sister, Paulette Bloodworth of Princeton; one brother, Douglas Storms and wife Delorse of Princeton; six grandchildren, Jeremy Haberlock and wife, Kimberly, Bryan Martin and wife, Toni, Joshua Storms and wife, Heather, Tate Martin and wife, Alexis, Evan Martin, Wade Martin and wife, Jessica; nine great grandchildren, Ethan Franklin, Ava Mason, Robert Storms, Harmony, Nova and Raiden Martin, Joel Martin, Parker Brown and coming in August, baby Clark Martin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ortho Elbert Storms; mother, Neva Susan Kingrey Storms; sisters Neva Riddle, Evangline Wilson, Betty Slaybaugh and Carolyn Thomas: brother Jim Storms.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 12, 2020, at 2:00 with Bro. Franklin Skaggs officiating and Bro. David Warren assisting in the service. Burial followed in the Rogers Cemetery.
