Verna Rhea Greenlee Litchfield, 97, of Cadiz, died Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at Trigg County Hospital.
Born Dec. 19, 1926, in Frances (Crittenden County), she was a daughter of the late Hartland and Myrtle Nichols Greenlee. She was a retired private caregiver and had previously worked at Shady Lawn Nursing Home and Elk Brand manufacturing. She was a member of Montgomery Homemakers club for over 60 years and was a longtime member of the Trigg County Quilters Guild. She was a member of East Cadiz Baptist Church and was a former member of Cadiz Baptist Church, where she was a member of WMU and served as a Sunday school teacher and GA leader.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Litchfield; and two sisters, Clara Guess and Venita Hunter.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Helen Travis and Kelmar “Sonny” and Betty Lou Litchfield, all of Cadiz; three daughters and sons-n-law, Linda and the Rev. Danny Mitcheson of Cadiz, Marsha and Paul Wynn of Eddyville, and Rhonda and Bill Stuart of Madisonville; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz, with the Rev. Joe K. Johnson and the Rev. Danny Mitcheson officiating.
Brial will follow in East End Cemetery in Cadiz.
